What size should I print for my frame?

Print the size that matches your frame, or the print size its mat is cut for if it has one. Every order includes all seven sizes: 8 × 10″, 11 × 14″ and 16 × 20″ for US frames, and A4, A3, 30 × 40 cm and 50 × 70 cm for European ones.

Frames with a mat

A mat is the card border inside many frames, and it makes the window the poster shows through smaller. An 11 × 14″ frame with a mat is usually cut for an 8 × 10″ print, and a 16 × 20″ frame with a mat often for an 11 × 14″. Check the label for the print size the mat is cut for; the window itself is a little smaller, so the mat overlaps the print's edges. Print that size, not the frame's. Without a mat, print the frame's own size.

Each size is laid out on its own

The poster is laid out again for each paper shape rather than stretched or cropped, so it keeps its margins at 8 × 10″ as well as at 50 × 70 cm. The PDF is set at the exact paper size, so print it at 100% (“actual size”), not “fit to page”. Because every size is included, you can print an 8 × 10″ for the nursery now and a 16 × 20″ later from the same download link.
